Yakima FreshTrack Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2021 Volkswagen Atlas- Video

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima FreshTrack Ski and Snowboard Carrier and how it fits on our 2021 Volkswagen Atlas. This is the four pair of ski or two board option, but there is a six ski, four board option available as well. So you've got your Atlas and you're looking for a way to get your skis and snowboards where you need them to go, but they're pretty long and they do tend to get icy and snowy, especially after you use them, so you might wanna get them up on the roof, and a ski and snowboard carrier like this is a great option to do it, especially on the Atlas with our raised rails, super easy to get the crossbars on there and the roof rack as well as the carrier, so let's check out how it works. First thing we'll do is get the carrier opened up, so you can just do it with the palm of your hand, super easy, the whole end cap is a button basically, so if you have large gloves or mittens on in the cold, super easy still to get them open, and they're hinged so they stay open, I don't have to keep holding them while I load or unload my gear. On the inside, you can see that there is nice rubber padding on the top and the bottom, not only to protect your gear, but it's gonna keep it from sliding around when you're driving. more

Kuat Grip Slide Out Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2021 Volkswagen Atlas- Video

How's it going It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Grip Ski and Snowboard Carrier and how it fits on a 2021 Volkswagen Atlas. This is going to be the four-ski two-board option, but there is six-ski four-board options available as well. Also, this is the black color, but there is a gray and pearl for each of those sizes if you want something that's gonna fit your aesthetic a little bit better. Basically the Kuat Grip is a premium ski and snowboard option. It's got a couple of unique features that we'll get into in just a little bit, but we're just gonna be focusing on the fit for this car. more

If you need to carry your skis, your snowboards, or eating your fishing rods over to the slopes or to the water, don't get them mixed up, then you're gonna need a carrier because you can fit some of those things inside of your car. But you are gonna get your car wet, you're gonna get snow in there. It's easier to have it up top. So here we have the Yakima Fresh Track Ski and Snowboard and Fishing Rod Carrier It's a great way to carry those items to your destination and I'll show you how it does it. So this is a great middle of the road option where you still have premium features like locks as well as the universal clamp but you don't have as streamlined or easy to use features. more

Rhino Rack Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2021 Volkswagen Jetta- Video

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at how the Rhino-Rack ski and snowboard and fishing rod carrier fits on a 2021 Volkswagen Jetta. So this has a bunch of different size options, you can get it as a 2, 3, 4, 6, or 8 pairs of ski carrier, so what we have here is the four, right there in the middle, but it's really up to you which one works better for you, they all work the same way, they have the same sizes, the same clearances, just different amounts of skis that you can carry. Now, here with your Jetta, you are limited to your crossbar spread, so center to center, it's gonna be 27 3/4 inches, and we do recommend like around 29 inches, but here, it's perfectly fine with the bindings on the ski. Now, to access those skis, you have these big buttons up top. So even with your heavy or thick gloves, just hit those buttons, one and two, those pop up, making it easier for you to grab the skis and snowboards. Now, if you want to or with the longer carrier, that might be a little trickier, so I would recommend getting or look at the slide out function, but here, you can also see how this can be used with those fishing rods because of the rubber padding on the bottom and the top of your carrier. more

If you have a smaller vehicle or just tired of carrying all your bulky ski and snowboard equipment inside the car on your long trips, this going to be a great way to get them up and out of the inside. And on top of your roof, it's going to make a lot more room on the inside and just keep everybody a lot more comfortable on the drive. With the EVO six, we're going to have about 34 and a half inches of usable space. So in the winter, you can go ahead and carry four snowboards or even six skis. more

This is a great snowboard carrier if you are looking to carry maybe a multiple number of skis and snowboards, this fits six pairs of skis or four snowboards. Right here we have one snowboard and two sets of skis, and you can see how there is plenty of space to load it up with even more. So this carrier has a lock. Andy: Hello everyone. Andy here with the etrailer, and today we're going to go over the Kuat grip ski and snowboard rack on a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. Nice feature is having these oversize handles here. You're going to be able to access and open both the front and the rear. If you happen to have larger gloves on, you can still open up the rack here and you also be able to grab a hold of the sliding mechanism in order to bring the rack out towards you. This feature is nice if you happened to have larger gear on with zippers, you're not going to be leaning against your car causing scratches potentially when you're loading and unloading, you can actually bring the top of the rack out towards you and you can load and unload away from the vehicle.Here with the grip lock teeth that are rubber, they're lined both on the top and the bottom. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Volkswagen Passat, we're going to be doing a test fit on a Yakima FreshTrack Ski and Snowboard Carrier. That part number is Y03093. This is a retro-style carrier that mounts to the roof rack of your vehicle and allows you to transport up to four boards or three sets of skis to and from the slopes. It has a nice big gray button that we push down to access where we would store our equipment. It has a spring-loaded system to where it'll stay open so you can load and unload your gear. Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta we're doing s test fit of the Thule snowpack ski and snowboard carriers. That pert number is TH7326. Now we already have the front half of our carriers on, we're going to show you this back half because it is the same installation. We'll first take our carrier and just align it with the front half as best we can. Then well take our strap around. Since it won't fit there we can come around to our knob in the back and start to loosen that strap. When that's loose enough, we'll take that strap and just fit it in to its spot on the carrier. more

RockyMounts Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2013 Volkswagen Jetta- Video

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, we're doing a test fit of the Rocky Mounts Lift Up Biggie Ski and Snowboard carrier. That part number is RKY1482. We already have our front half on, we're going to show you how we load up the back half. The first thing we'll do is make sure that our cables are all facing the right way, and we'll slide it on and line it up with the front as best we can. Then we'll take our cable, bring it around the front, and fit that into this lock here. With that in place, we can take any type of Allen key or Allen tool that will fit, and we'll just tighten this bolt down here on the side. Tightening this bolt is going to actually tighten our strap around the bottom of the crossbar and secure that in place. more

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we'll be doing a test fit of the Yakima Fat Cat. This is going to be your roof rack mounted ski and snowboard carrier that hold 6 skis or 4 snowboards. It will be part number Y03088. As you can see we've already got one fitted onto to the vehicle onto our Yakima Round Bars. Now we'll go ahead and mount the other one up. Make sure that your clamps are undone, they just simply fold up and under, they go right up into the grooves, you'll see the 2 sides there, they go right up into the grooves and then it will simply close up. more

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we will be doing a test fit of the Whispbar Roof Rack Mounted Ski and Snowboard Carrier. It's going to be part number WB-300. As you can see, we've already got one up here mounted on our vehicle, and we're going to show you how to mount the other one on. We'll make sure that our straps are undone on both sides, and that the inside wingnuts that you see here are loose. Let's go ahead and place it up there. Then, we'll go ahead and bring the strap around. You can use the red knob to loosen and tighten it by simply spinning it either direction. We're going to bring it up and clip it on. more

Whispbar Roof Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2013 Volkswagen Jetta- Video

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, we will be test fitting the Whispbar Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier with 6-ski or 4-board capacity, as part number WB-300 To begin our test fit, we will place the front half of our carrier directly onto our bar, bring the straps around the bar, and place it back into the foot. We will then secure it by closing the buckle. We will open the jaws of our carrier, lift the thumb screw, tighten it down, and push it back down to finish securing our strap. We will move to the driver's side and repeat this tightening process. We will now grab the rear half of our carrier and place it directly onto our rear bar. Once we have made sure that both halves of our carrier are in line with each other, we will secure it using the same tightening process that we used on the front. With our carrier secure, we will open our jaws, grab our gear. more

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, we will be test fitting the Yakima FatCat 6, the Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier with 6 Ski or 4 Board Capacity, is part number Y03088. We will begin our test fit by placing the front half of our carrier on our front bar. We will bring the strap around our bar, fitting it back into the foot of the carrier, and closing the buckle. By pressing the button on the end of the carrier, we can open our jaws and access the thumbscrew. We will fold it up, tighten it until our buckle is secure, and push it back down. We will now move to the driver's side and repeat the same process. With the front half of our carrier secure, we will grab the rear half of our carrier, and place it on our rear bar. Once we have them lined up with each other, we will repeat the tightening process used in the front. Now we're ready to load our gear. more

Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2012 Volkswagen Jetta- Video

Today on a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta we are going to do a test fit of the Yakima FatCat 6 ski and snowboard carrier part number Y03078. This will be on top of our round bar roof rack system. I have already got my carrier set up and hardware installed, so let us go ahead and do the test fit on the vehicle. We will start by tightening down the lower clamps. Once we have the lower clamps tightened down we will go ahead and open the carrier, then we will tighten down the level of adjustment once we get it squared up to the vehicle. Now that I have got my front carrier mounted and tightened down, I will go ahead and install the rear carrier. more
